Internship – improving practicalities of displaying and selling forButiken Republiken.

Brief

In need of expanding the shop and finding new ways of practically displaying and selling a mix of vintage objects by Swedish designers and modern product design piecesby Jakob Ulrik. Also, finding newways to attract people to enterthe shop and have a closer look at the products to develop aconnection.

Solution

Taking inspiration from nature by using pattern where each object is similar but never the same – helped to createa sculpture of different size boxes that turn into a cave. The room is a box, which consists of smaller boxes.

According to studies, red is the most attention grabbing colour. The bold colour not only unites the intense pattern of many box-shelves, but grabs attention from a distance.

The boxes create a special, museum-like, spaces for individualobjects to be viewed without being affected by other objects. Each box is like a little home for a piece of art.
