Cat Cafe
Project year: 2013
Location: Coventry, England
The intention and challenge for this project is to learn how to balance unusual bright colours and develop a strong concept through space and objects.
Concept in Interior Design
Interior is more than just styling and decorating when it has a theme and concept.
People get excited when they suddenly solve the riddle or understand a hidden message. The same principle is applied when working with concepts in the interior. If an object or a space has a little mystery or an idea behind it, that makes it more special in comparison with those which aim just visual appeal.
Minimalism nowadays is one of the top trends, or design phylosopies. Materials and colours are usually neutral/natural, objects are simple. Less is more. Sometimes, I think, it lacks the excitement that a space can provide, without a strong concept it can sometimes appear soulless, dry and empty.
Just a pinch of meaning would add more value to the interior.
The intention and challenge for this project is to learn how to balance unusual bright colours, because matching neutral colours are always safe, and almost hard to fail.
